How much solar energy reaches the earth in a 24 hour period?
I would like to figure out how much energy from the sun reaches the earth's surface in a 24 hour period. I'm only looking for a an approximation.
This is not for a school project. This is a personal curiosity.

- Approximately 10.55 zettajoules per day.
30% of this never reaches the surface . . . so at the surface approximately 7.38 zettajoules per day.

- 3.826E+26 Watts (86400 sec) [(6.378E+6)/(1.496E+11)]^2 / 4
= 1.5E+22 Joules
